SOUND & SOUL
Every sound has a character.
An illustrated world inspired by music, rhythm and the personalities that live between the notes.
MEET THE CHARACTERS
Different sounds. Different personalities.
THE DJ
Some people listen to music. Some people spend their
lives looking for the next record..
THE CAVAQUINHO
A little rhythm, a little smoke and the expression of someone who's played this song more times than he can remember.
BOSSA NOVA
Quiet rhythm. Brazilian soul. A character somewhere
between the song and the story.
FROM FIRST LINE TO FINAL NOTE
Characters rarely arrive fully formed.
The Cavaquinho Musician began as a loose sketch an expression, a posture and the suggestion of a character.
From there, the personality developed through line, colour and detail until he found his final form.

FINDING THE CHARACTER
FINDING THE COLOUR
FINAL CHARACTER
Same character. A few wrong turns. Eventually, the right personality.
LIVE WITH SOUND & SOUL
Turn the volume up.
Selected Sound & Soul characters and artwork find their way beyond the page and onto apparel,
prints and objects made for everyday life.
OWN THE SOUND
Music doesn't have to stay in your headphones. Sound & Soul brings characters, rhythm and illustrated music culture into pieces designed to be worn, used and lived with.
New pieces will be added as the world grows.
